A CAPPELLA ENSEMBLES
the a cappella experience
A cappella (singing without instrumental accompaniment) has been popularized in recent years by TV shows and movies, such as Glee and Pitch Perfect, but the tradition spans beyond our recorded history. Modern a cappella groups perform genres from the profound and classical (Chanticleer) to beatboxing popular music (Pentatonix), and our groups sample and learn from that rich history.
Auditions are held in the first few weeks of the Fall Semester, and group members in good standing are invited to continue performing with the group until graduation.
Our a cappella ensembles are our ambassadors to the Edwardsville community. They perform for service clubs, private parties, social events, care centers, and more. Additionally, they culminate each school year with a concert at the Historic Wildey Theater.
