THE EHS CHOIR PROGRAM

WE INCLUDE. WE CARE. WE NURTURE.
THAT'S HOW WE CREATE ONE OF THE BEST CHOIR PROGRAMS IN THE STATE.

From classroom music theory exercises to performing at Carnegie Hall — and every step in between! — our goal is to provide students with not only quality musical instruction but also a safe space within which to grow. We strive to create unique musical experiences both for our performers and their audiences. In order to achieve this, our choir members are appreciated, supported, accepted, and encouraged to find their own unique voices.

singing is for everyone:

take the next step:

Students entering their sophomore year (and above) may elect to audition for Concert Choir II and further hone their singing skills. Students in this choir have performed at Carnegie Hall, at the Illinois Music Educators All-State Conference, and with college choir programs in the St. Louis area. This class tackles more challenging music and increases knowledge of the musical language.

Or take a big leap:
chamber singers

Chamber Singers is an auditioned ensemble for sophomores and above. Students in this group perform an annual Madrigal Concert and perform throughout the community. These students have demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the musical language, theory, choral singing, and are challenged with a repertoire commensurate with their skills.

sing it a cappella:
bel canto and acafellaz

Students in the choral program are eligible to audition for our extracurricular a cappella ensembles.
